The perennial problem for using USA equipment in the UK and Europe is the different voltage used on both continents (USA=110/120V, Europe=220/240V), so When North American travellers come to England, they are presented with the harmonised European 230V a.c. mains supply, as opposed to 120V a.c. as used in North America. Europeans have the opposite problem, they need a step-up transformer.
The other problem comes when UK consumers purchase electrical items from North America, only to find that they operate on a diferent Voltage.
Our modern range of Step Down Transformers allow the general traveller, tourist or businessman to re-allocate or use your equipment in your chosen destination.
The Tacima range of transformers incorporate many design features to produce a superior product.
Features: (Excluding 30va & 50va models)
Moulded plastic enclosure to produce an attractive product for the home. Double locking safety feature of the enclosure to prevent damage following misuse. Full Encapsulation of the Transformer - - Improves heat dissipation - Prevents ingress of moisture, etc.
Toroidal Construction - a) Improves heat dissipation b) Prevents ingress of moisture, etc. c) Improved external magnetic field d) Smaller size e) Reduced weight
Whereas traditional laminated transformers have laminated covers, Toroidal mains transformers are wound on an iron ring (Torus) and are becoming more widely used due to improved modern winding techniques.
Designed and manufactured in Britain (with the exception of the 45/100/300va models) | |
