	Step down voltage converter 240V - 120V / Step up voltage converter 120v - 240v A converter that enables a 120Vac device (USA mains voltage) to be powered on a UK mains outlet (accepts both US two pin and three pin plugs). This 300VA Step-down Voltage Converter is for use in the UK with electrical equipment from the USA. What it does is convert UK 220 - 240 volts to US 110 - 120 volts. The output is pure AC and the voltage converter can be used with all appliances rated 0 - 300W. What Can I Use It with? Everything with a rating of 300W or below, (although it is a good idea to allow some margin for error of at least 10% ). This would include such items as most AC Mains Adapters, Calculators, Electric Razors, Radios, Ghetto Blasters, CD players, some Handheld Games Consoles, Air Purifiers, Christmas Tree Lights, Nebulisers and Notebook computers, TVs and Hi-fis (check rating to be sure). Please note that some TV's often state a low wattage in the instructions, and when the TV is running this wattage will be correct, however, when TVs are 'Powered On' they usually surge, and this surge can be many times greater than the running wattage. We recommend a converter of at least 500 Watts for use with TVs. You should check that the item you want to power is rated 300 Watts or less. Simply plug the voltage converter into a UK socket and plug the US plug into the voltage converter. We sell this primarily as a Step Down voltage converter as it is fitted with a UK 3 pin plug. However, this Transformer is very versatile and has the ability to also be used as Step Up converter (to allow the use of UK equipment in the US). To do this, all you need to do is change the jumper switch at the back of the converter, and fit an adapter to the power plug (Supplied Free with the Transformer).
